Governance Structure

Administrative Support and Reporting

The Council’s formation is supported by the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing administration. The Council’s authority is advisory only. The Council communicates with administration as needed and provides a report to the entire faculty statewide.

Membership

Membership is currently composed of faculty, staff and students from three campuses. Members may self-nominate or volunteer to serve on the Council based on interest in sustainable practices and health. Term duration is set at four years with an optional second term. Council members will meet via zoom and decisions are made through consensus.

Council Operations

The Sustainability Council aligns its work with the College’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. Each year, the Council identifies and advances initiatives that support these institutional priorities through collaborative discussion and consensus-based decision-making. The Dean provides annual support for the Council’s Sustainability Service Project initiative.

Council Members

The Council is composed of faculty representatives from all campuses, as well as staff and student members. The Council actively welcomes new members.

Council Agenda and Meetings

The Council meets monthly during the academic year and convenes additional meetings as needed to accomplish its objectives. Meetings are held virtually to ensure broad participation across all campuses.
