The online Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) is a professional, practice-focused doctoral degree designed to prepare highly qualified nurses to be leaders who deliver expert nursing care and ultimately improve health care outcomes. This degree is designed for you if you are a nurse who plans to continue in a practice role, and who has already earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.

Ph.D. Options
Through its core curriculum, Penn State’s Ph.D. program in Nursing provides a rich background in research methods, statistics, ethics, and theory. This is supplemented by a wide range of specialty courses chosen from the University’s diverse array of offerings. Full-time Ph.D. students may be supported with tuition and stipends.
