Description

Overview:

Expanding the bounds of our knowledge base within and surrounding the nursing discipline, we aim to build a robust community of researchers, educators, and scientists. As a result, the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is pleased to announce an open-rank tenure-line faculty position.

Faculty Position:

Your work at Penn State will have lasting impact and you will enjoy the benefit of being a part of Penn State’s R1 research community. An integral member of the research faculty in the Nese College of Nursing, you will be expected to direct a research program focused on nursing sciences and their translation to person-centered care across the lifespan and health/wellness continuum. Also charged with teaching both undergraduate and graduate level courses and the direction of dissertations, further, you will engage in outreach to disseminate research to a range of stakeholders, including policymakers, nurses, and other practitioners at national, regional, and local conferences and meetings.

You will need the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Faculty candidate:

To be successful in your pursuit of this opportunity, you should be a leader and researcher with the ability to demonstrate your impact on policy and/or practice. Additionally, you should have a strong publication record and a track record of securing external funding. A nursing license is strongly preferred.

Further, you are an ideal addition to our faculty if you have an interest in and commitment to becoming an integral member of the interdisciplinary scholarly community responsible for contributing to the University’s initiative on Health Ethics, Ecology, and Policy.

Truly founded in collaboration, you would be a good fit for this role and culture if you are experienced in fostering collaborations with colleagues in other disciplines and units across the college. You should enjoy mentoring junior faculty with a dynamic approach that draws out the best in your mentees. Finally, we seek a colleague who will pursue a program of externally funded research that is published in highly regarded, peer-reviewed journals within the fields of nursing, ethics, and health services research.
