Abstract

In the demanding fields of nursing education and healthcare practice, wellness is not a luxury—it is a necessity. This panel discussion webinar brings together educators, clinicians, and wellness advocates to explore the multifaceted challenges and opportunities surrounding well-being in nursing and healthcare environments. With a dual focus on education and practicing professionals, the session will examine stressors such as academic rigor, clinical exposure, burnout, and compassion fatigue as well as strategies to promote wellness. Panelists will share evidence-based strategies, institutional initiatives, and personal insights aimed at fostering resilience, mental health, and sustainable self-care. Attendees will gain practical tools to support their own wellness journeys and contribute to a culture of care within both educational and clinical settings.

Objectives

  • Promote dialogue between educators, clinicians, administrators, and students to create a culture of wellness across all levels of healthcare.
  • Provide evidence-based insights into recognizing, preventing, and managing burnout and compassion fatigue among nurses and healthcare workers.
  • Showcase successful wellness programs and policies within healthcare systems that support staff well-being, retention, and job satisfaction.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe resources to promote wellness in their personal lives and workplace.
  • Reflect on the evidence-based insights on recognizing and managing stress among co-workers.
