Hrabovsky is an Associate Research Professor in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing in the Pennsylvania State University. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Adult Education with a Graduate Certificate in Adult Education in the Health and Medical Professions. In addition, she has a completed the simulation instructor course and developed the simulation program currently in place for the Penn State Nese College of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner/Doctorate of Nursing Practice students. She also teaches several online education courses and has completed certificates in Foundations for Teaching and Instructional Practice. Hrabovsky is an Advanced Practice provider and Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. She has developed and offered several specialized education programs for researchers and health care providers in tobacco treatment, history, and regulation. She has participated as an advance care provider in several clinical trials for tobacco treatment including inpatient, outpatient, and texting services to treat tobacco dependence. Furthermore, Hrabovsky manages and directs the Penn State employee tobacco intervention program.

    ABSTRACT: “A Novel Simulation Fellowship Program for DNP Students”
    PURPOSE: This project integrates a fellowship into a formal degree program, the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and offers it as a specialization for students to obtain in addition to the DNP. Guided by a Competency-Based Education (CBE) design, this initiative allows for personalized learning and supports the Academy’s mission by creating solutions that matter, inspiring change that propels transformation, and envisioning a healthier future through nursing leadership, innovation, and science.

  • Shari Hrabovsky, MSN, FNP-BC (2017). Developed and implemented a twelve hour Tobacco Treatment Training Program for Nursing and Respiratory Therapy staff. The goal of the training is to provide an educational foundation for healthcare and community workers to present, discuss, treat and educate tobacco users within each participant’s scope of practice.
