Financial Aid
Penn State awards a number of scholarships to undergraduate students each year. There also are grants, loans, and the College Work-Study program for those who qualify. Scholarships are available to Nursing students through the School of Nursing and through the College of Health and Human Development.

CertifiedBackground.com is introducing in 2011, the AACN Student Scholarship Program. Through 2015, CertifiedBackground.com will award 8 students scholarships in a year, worth $5,000 each totaling $200,000 over five years.

Scholarship Criteria:
- Students must be admitted or enrolled in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program at an AACN member institution
- Maintain at least a 3.2 GPA in current program

Health Careers Scholarship 2011
The Health Research and Educational Trust of New Jersey (HRET), an affiliate of the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA), believes it is particularly important to encourage and enable New Jersey residents to pursue health careers and, therefore, has established a scholarship fund to assist in meeting this need. CampusRN Scholarship Fund

CampusRN has launched a new scholarship program in conjunction with the creation of the CampusRN state edition network. This nationwide scholarship program is the most comprehensive of its kind for nursing programs and nursing students because it features scholarship winners from six different regions across the country in which CampusRN has launched state edition sites. CampusRN will award six $2500 scholarships to needy and deserving nursing students in each region. Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania
The Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania (NAP) is a non-profit foundation created to support nurses in Pennsylvania. Scholarships for Nursing students are awarded in March of each year for use during that spring semester.

WMANNCA Scholarships
The Washington Metropolitan Area Navy Nurse Corps Association (WMANNCA) offers two $1,000 scholarships to students pursuing their BS in Nursing (pre- or post-RN). Application deadline was on or before April 1, 2011. More information about WMANNCA Scholarships.
Pauline Thompson Nursing Education Scholarship
The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania (NFP) provides educational scholarships, research grants and awards to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The NFP is currently accepting applications for education scholarships and nursing research awards; the application deadline was May 6, 2011. Baccalaureate (including Second Degree), Associate, and RN to BS students may apply for the education scholarship, worth $1,000. More information...
CertifiedBackground.com-AACN Scholarship
Penn State University Park, Altoona, Erie, Fayette, Mont Alto and Worthington-Scranton Nursing students who are enrolled in a Baccalaureate program and have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply for $5,000 scholarships. Scholarships are offered four times a year, with deadlines of January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 3. More information...
