Cacciotti is an assistant teaching professor in Nursing at Penn State Altoona. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with her PhD in 2015. Her research emphasis is in the area of women’s health and diabetes focusing on risk-taking behaviors, contraceptive use, and sexually transmitted infections. She has been published in the Research Journal of Women’s Health, Diabetes, Diabetes Care and The Diabetes Educator. Dr Cacciotti has also presented her research at the American Association of Diabetes Scientific Sessions and the American Association of Diabetic Educators. She taught at the University of Pittsburgh since 2010 before starting at Penn State in January 2022. Cacciotti currently teaches junior and second degree level nursing students in NUR 320, NUR 306, NUR 200W.
