Hawk is a dedicated nursing educator and clinician with over 30 years of experience across diverse healthcare settings, including medical-surgical, oncology, transplant, case management, and healthcare administration. A proud graduate of the inaugural nursing class at Penn State Fayette, Hawk has combined her clinical expertise with a passion for teaching since 2017. She currently serves as a nursing instructor at Penn State Fayette, where she teaches a wide range of courses including mental health, community health, fundamentals, geriatrics, and transition to professional practice.
Hawk is known for her innovative teaching strategies, incorporating simulation, flipped classrooms, and interactive tools to promote critical thinking and student engagement. Her scholarly work focuses on simulation-based learning and faculty development, and she has coauthored faculty development modules to support clinical educators.
