Coleman is a nurse specializing in pediatric intermediate and intensive care and a certified nurse educator. She began her  nursing career in 1997 at Hershey Medical Center. In the process of moving to Pittsburgh area, she returned to school to earn her Master’s in nursing education and began teaching in 2012. In 2017, upon completing her DNP, she worked as a program director for an associate and practical nursing programs. Since, she has become part of the Penn State nursing family and has taught in the RN-BSN, GNURS, and SCND programs.
