From the Dean
Dear Alumni, Colleagues, Friends, and Prospective and Current Students:
It is my honor to serve in the role of Dean of the Penn State College of Nursing and welcome you to our outstanding college.
We are Penn State! Collectively as a college of nursing, we care about the health of the people of our state, our country, and our world. Our mission is to both improve health through our nursing education and research and develop qualified nursing leaders who will make a difference in practice, nursing science, and the provision of health care for all.
Penn State Nursing is a wonderful place where you can invest your heart and your soul. The mission we have chosen to undertake is to develop nurses, nursing programs, and nursing science that will meet the needs of all people in a new era of health and health challenges. Ours is a big task, but together we can make anything possible. There are wonderful opportunities for everyone at Penn State.
I hope to meet many of you throughout the year, and I hope you will follow our progress through the Penn State Nursing magazine, on Facebook and Twitter, or at this website—wherever you are most comfortable connecting.
Be well and enjoy each day. Health is a precious gift that requires our attention. My tip for a healthier year for all of us is to “get moving” both literally and figuratively to achieve our mission.
