Greetings from your Alumni Society Board,

The 2025–26 academic year is upon us and promises to be full of activities and events for alumni of the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing. The Alumni Society continues to engage and support the College in advancing nursing education, scholarship, research, and academic excellence—making it an exciting time to be a Penn State Nursing alum.
This summer, the society was honored to receive the Penn State Alumni Association’s Volunteer Award for Fellowship and Networking for our annual Alumni and Friends Tailgate. This award recognizes excellence in fostering networking and fellowship among alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. Please join me in congratulating everyone who contributed to this meaningful recognition of our collective efforts. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s tailgate on Saturday, Sept. 13, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Our Penn State Nursing celebration continues this fall with the following events:
- Ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Nursing Sciences Building expansion and renovation — Saturday, Sept. 20, 1 p.m., HUB Lawn
- Homecoming Parade: Join the Alumni Society to walk in the parade — Friday, Oct. 10
For details on these and other upcoming activities, please see the Calendar of Events in this newsletter.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement with the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing Alumni Society. Be sure to connect with us on Facebook to learn more. The Alumni Society provides ongoing opportunities for all Penn State Nursing alumni to remain connected to the educational institution that helped shape our success in the profession and our leadership in health care!
Sincerely,
Dr. Mark Nurse ’88 BS
