The College of Nursing seeks applications for an exciting new position in the College of Nursing. The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for maintaining clinical compliance for students of the Graduate Nursing Programs for College of Nursing at Penn State University. The location is the University Park campus. The Penn State College of Nursing is one of the most comprehensive colleges of nursing in any public university in the country. With over 2,100 undergraduate students and approximately 200 graduate students, our footprint is worldwide with our faculty creating immeasurable experiences for our students around the globe. This will be a full-time position with full benefits with an anticipated start date as early as August 2021.
Primary responsibilities include ensuring student compliance with College of Nursing requirements, clinical agency requirements, as well as state and federal regulations. This job will involve maintaining up-to-date data in the NC-SARA database for both professional licensure requirements and supervised field experiences. This position will include developing and maintaining databases to verify professional training, certifications, and licensing of students, faculty, and preceptors to compliance with state and federal regulations. This position will involve preparing reports for the State Board of nursing and other relevant organizations and accrediting bodies. The credentialing specialist will work closely with other staff, faculty, and clinical agencies.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, timely, organized, and collaborative. Typically requires an Associates degree or higher plus 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health-related field is preferred The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have experience working with database management systems. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to manage concurrent expectations while demonstrating a high level of student-centered customer service in a dynamic environment is critical.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
