The College of Nursing seeks applications for an exciting new position in the College of Nursing. The Clinical Placement Coordinator of the Graduate Nursing Programs is responsible for overseeing the overall clinical placement operations/processes (planning, developing, coordinating, and maintaining) of the Graduate Nursing Programs for College of Nursing at the Penn State University, located at University Park. Travel to other campuses/ clinical sites will be required. The Penn State College of Nursing is one of the most comprehensive colleges of nursing in any public university in the country. With over 2,100 undergraduate students and approximately 200 graduate students, our footprint is world-wide with our faculty creating immeasurable experiences for our students around the globe. This will be a full-time 36-week appointment with full University benefits with an anticipated start date as early as August 2021.
Primary responsibilities include facilitating clinical placements for graduate students. This job will involve identifying and negotiating clinical placement settings, appropriate preceptors (graduate program), and other clinical-related learning experiences. The clinical placement coordinator will arrange all aspects of the clinical experience including identifying the need for new contracts with potential clinical agencies and/or preceptors and assuring compliance with contractual agreements. The clinical placement coordinator will work closely with staff involved in the clinical placement process. This position may also include teaching courses, clinical supervision, serving on student doctoral committees, advising students and other service and scholarly activities.
The rank of this position will be based upon the credentials of the successful candidate. This position requires national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP preferred), PA State license as a CRNP (or be eligible for PA licensure), and minimum of one-year experience as CRNP. Candidates must be prepared at the doctorate level (DNP preferred).
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to the clearances.
