JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing is seeking to fill a vital position on the graduate program team as an Administrative Support Assistant 3. The successful candidate will be part of the administrative team that supports the Nese CON graduate programs functions. The primary responsibility of the position is to support the graduate faculty located at Hershey and University Park.
The Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Committee support and representation
- Setting up seminars and retreats and booking classrooms at Hershey campus
- Employee reimbursement for travel
- Preparing reports on graduate faculty, distributing communication on behalf of the graduate program
- Assisting the Associate Dean with the faculty review process, and be the HR onboarding partner for new hire fulltime/part-time faculty
Additional duties may be assigned by the Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Program Directors. The candidate will respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues with minimum supervision. This position is one of the first points of contact for faculty and students within the Nese CON graduate program and requires regular contact with the World Campus team, the Graduate School, and other University offices.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a High School Diploma or higher, an Associate degree is preferred, plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with student data systems, room scheduling systems, admissions platforms, and data management systems is desirable. Within Penn State’s infrastructure, those systems are: LionPATH, CollegeNet, GRADS, iTwo, Starfish, and SAP Concur. Proficiency in the use of office 365 (MS Word, Excel, and Access), and knowledge of University policies and Graduate School are preferred. Ideal candidates will have excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills; and the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of professionalism. The individual should be able to work both independently and collaboratively with a minimum of supervision and have demonstrated the ability to interact with diverse members of the public, as well as students, staff, and colleagues within the University.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
