Faculty members Kristen Altdoerffer, Cathy Dillen, and Dede McCreary attended the 2018 Eleventh National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference Sept. 27–29 in Palm, Springs, California. Cathy and Dede—both faculty members at Penn State Altoona—also presented at the conference.
Cathy, who graduated from Penn State’s D.N.P. program in May 2018, presented “Evaluating a Skin Antisepsis Protocol to Decrease Cesarean Surgical Site Infections in Women with Increased BMIs.” Dede will receive her D.N.P. in December; her presentation was titled “Job Satisfaction of Home Health Nurses.”
“Attending the conference was extremely beneficial in showcasing the work of DNPs and empowering us for future work,” said Kristen, director of the D.N.P. program. “For me, it was helpful to learn about methods for building sustainable projects, especially for our future programs.”
