Janet A. Williamson Excellence in Teaching Award

Each year, the Penn State Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing recognizes an outstanding faculty member at the University Park or Hershey campus by presenting her or him with the Janet A. Williamson Excellence in Teaching Award. The award is given to a faculty member who embodies excellence in nursing education by inspiring students to learn and by being an outstanding role model.

Who is Eligible?

The nominee must be a current and active full-time faculty member at the University Park or Hershey campus. Faculty members who are on leave are not eligible.

Specific Criteria

Briefly elaborate on EACH of the following criteria in support of your nominee:

  • Outstanding teaching
  • Effectiveness as a role model
  • Availability and support to students
  • Professional activities
  • Involvement in scholarship
  • Community activities

Fran and Holly Soisman Faculty Development Award

This award is intended to honor a member of the faculty of the College of Health and Human Development or the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing who is engaged in significant, innovative research related to the design, development, delivery, administration, or evaluation of health care services.

Who is Eligible?

The nominee must be a full-time tenured or tenure-eligible faculty members in the College of Health and Human Development and the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing 

Specific Criteria

Briefly elaborate on EACH of the following criteria in support of your nominee:

  • Outstanding teaching
  • Effectiveness as a role model
  • Availability and support to students
  • Professional activities
  • Involvement in scholarship
