Dean Paula Milone-Nuzzo was honored to receive the 2017 Leader of Leaders Award from the National Student Nurses’ Association on April 6 during their annual convention in Dallas, Texas. The annual award is presented to an outstanding dean, faculty adviser, or state consultant who demonstrates distinguished support and service to nursing students.

“Dean Milone-Nuzzo has been a champion for nursing and nursing education in Pennsylvania for many years,” said Marcus Henderson, president of the Student Nurses’ Association of Pennsylvania (SNAP), which nominated Dean Milone-Nuzzo for the award. “Her dedication to nursing students and her drive to advance nursing education is evident. She is committed to engage all of her students in preprofessional education that will elevate their nursing careers.

“Dr. Milone-Nuzzo shows unending support to nursing students not only at Penn State, but also throughout the Commonwealth,” Henderson added. “By engaging SNAP in the Pennsylvania Action Coalition, she solidified her commitment to nursing students across Pennsylvania.”

“Dean Paula’s support and service to nursing students and health care is felt by Penn State SNAP members and countless others,” said Logan Jarratt, president of the Penn State Hershey SNAP chapter.
